When it comes to organising events, it can be very tempting to try and save money by reducing quantity or even cutting out a few things completely, however some things just can’t be compromised and many event organisers learn this the hard way! One common mistake, and probably one of the most important things to consider, is under-providing portable lavatories.
Needing the toilet is a basic requirement and necessity, so if you are hosting an event it is your responsibility to provide an adequate amount of portable lavatories for your guests. It is also required by law, so if there isn’t toilets on site already, you will need to hire some.
It can be easy to try and cut costs by providing less than the recommended amount, but here’s a few reasons why you shouldn’t make that mistake;
Less toilets = more queues
If you’re attending an event, particularly ones with ongoing entertainment, you aren’t going to want to be wasting time standing in a queue, especially if alcohol is being consumed and your needs to use the toilet increases. Queuing at festivals is to be expected for food and drink, but it will negatively affect your guests’ experience if they have to spend even more time queuing just to use the loos – something that cannot be avoided.
The solution? More toilets!
With less toilets, it means the same capacity of people using the toilets will be spread between fewer toilets. This could result in overuse, and in some cases, overflowing. If you are hosting a large scale event, this is definitely something that needs to be considered when it comes to booking in your portable lavatories. This can be resolved by either providing more toilets to the event or arranging an ad-hoc service where we can empty the loos during the event. We can also provide event attendants to help keep your portable lavatories well maintained and well stocked.
With both of the above in mind, it doesn’t look great if your toilets are overflowing or if there are queues around the corner for the loos. You run the risk of receiving negative reviews, lack of returning customers and criticism as an event organiser, all of which can be easily avoided if the right amount of portable lavatories are provided!
